Local Sondheim aficionado Alan Dean talks about the show he has put together for Knutsford Musical Theatre Company, A Salute to Sondheim, based on the songs of the great musical theatre composer, which is on next week.
We review Alan Plater's classic 1968 play Close the Coalhouse Door about the mining industry on Tyneside, brought up to date by Lee Hall and directed by Sam West for two major Newcastle theatre companies Live Theatre and Northern Stage. It runs this week at The Lowry in Salford.
Next week sees the latest instalment of the Wilmslow Festival of One Act Plays, which has been running now for more than sixty years and features short performances from several local adult and youth theatre groups.
