The Theatre Show

The Theatre Show, 21 June 2012

Writer Liz Bloor talks to us about her first play A Teenage Take Away, which premières this weekend at the Barnaby Festival in Macclesfield and was based on an award-winning documentary that she made as a Panorama Special for the BBC about Asian gangs grooming young girls.

We will review three major productions currently running in the north west: Library Theatre Company's new production in a non-theatre space Manchester Lines by Jackie Kay in an office building at Number One First Street in Manchester; Oldham Coliseum's final production in its partnership with Grange Arts Centre in Oldham of Dumb Show by Joe Penhall; the latest Bill Kenwright tour of the musical Starlight Express by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Richard Stilgoe.
