The Theatre Show, 22 July 2010
This episode features an interview with Fiona Gaspar MBE on her second day in her new role as executive director of Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre. She talks about many different aspects of running a major arts organisation and about her previous role as executive producer of Liverpool's European Capital of Culture.
We look at a small selection of the local (i.e. south Manchester and Cheshire) winners of the Greater Manchester Drama Federation (GMDF) awards.
There is also a short feature on theatre that you may want to travel to in the summer when many local theatres are dark, including a look at Theatre by the Lake in Keswick, The Dukes in Lancaster and Kneehigh Theatre Company's new Asylum portable theatre in Cornwall.
Next week's 24:7 Theatre Festival gets another mention, with details of some of the extra events running alongside the ten plays.
