The Theatre Show, 12 August 2010
This episode looks at what great theatre is available elsewhere in England for anyone who may be travelling around the country this summer.
Presenter David Chadderton reviews four out of the six plays in the summer season at the beautiful Theatre by the Lake on the shores of Derwentwater, Keswick in the Lake District: 'What The Butler Saw' by Joe Orton; 'Silence' by Moira Buffini; 'The Glass Menagerie' by Tennessee Williams and 'Bus Stop' by William Inge. He also speaks to Vanessa Johnson, a young actress who plays leading parts in three of the plays in the season.
David also speaks to Philip Fisher, London editor and chief London critic for British Theatre Guide, who gives his recommendations for shows to see if you're visiting the capital and his advice on how to get the best (and worst) deals on tickets.
