The Theatre Show

The Theatre Show, 10 February 2011

We feature excerpts from some of the speeches at the launch of the 2011 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting last week at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, including co-artistic director Greg Hersov, playwright and chair of judges Simon Stephens and chairman of sponsors Bruntwood Michael Oglesby.

There are reviews of David Thacker's production of Romeo and Juliet at Octagon Theatre in Bolton, the touring production of Spamalot at Palace Theatre in Manchester and Nicholas Hytner's production for the National Theatre of Hamlet starring Rory Kinnear at The Lowry in Salford.

We also have news of the winners of the Manchester Evening News Theatre Awards, announced today.
